Summer Body Care: 3 Key Differences from Winter

Summer Body Care: 3 Key Differences from Winter

When summer heat arrives, regular body care products often fail. Thick cream doesn’t absorb and leaves a sticky film. Harsh scrubs dry out the skin more than usual. And common moisturisers don’t help with swelling or tired, heavy legs by the evening.

Summer care needs to be different. Here are 3 key differences.

1. Scrub — Only with Gentle Exfoliants

In winter, skin tolerates larger particles more easily. In summer, it’s thinner, more exposed to sun and wind, and gets irritated faster.

What you need: a scrub based on fine sea salt. It polishes the skin without damaging it. Oils (jojoba, apricot) and panthenol immediately restore the barrier and prevent the skin from drying out.

Result: smooth skin without redness or tightness.

2. Hydration — Only with Light Textures

Thick body cream is a bad idea in summer. It takes a long time to absorb, leaves a greasy shine, and creates a greenhouse effect.

What you need: a body milk. It has a weightless texture, absorbs in a minute, and doesn’t stick. Ideally with aloe vera and niacinamide for softness, plus shea butter, jojoba, almond, and grapeseed oils for nourishment without heaviness.

Result: soft, velvety skin. Clothes don’t stick, and beach sand doesn’t cling.

3. Lymphatic Drainage & Cooling Are a Must

In hot weather, legs swell by the evening, heaviness sets in, and body contours become less defined due to water retention. Regular moisturisers don’t solve this.

What you need: products with an anti-cellulite and decongestant complex (caffeine, L-carnitine, ivy extract, kelp, horse chestnut). Plus a cryo-effect — gentle cooling for 20–30 minutes.

Extra bonus: on a hot summer night, this cooling helps you fall asleep more easily, even when it’s +30°C inside. It also quickly relieves tired legs after long walks.

Result: a feeling of lightness, a toned silhouette, and no evening swelling.

How to Build a Summer Routine in 2 Steps

Step 1 (2–3 times a week). Cryo-effect scrub. Apply to damp skin, massage, rinse off.

Step 2 (daily). Cryo-effect body milk. Apply to dry or slightly damp skin after showering.

The whole routine takes less than 3 minutes.

An Important Note About Cooling

The cryo-effect in such products usually comes from menthol. Some people may have an individual reaction to the cooling sensation. The effect lasts 20–30 minutes.

If you apply the product right after a hot shower, it may feel too intense. We recommend testing the product on a small area of skin first.

In summer, your skin needs lightness, gentle exfoliation, and help against swelling. Keep these three points in mind, and your skin will stay smooth, hydrated, and toned — even in the hottest weather.
